B.Wild VS. DJ Noel

Two Personalities. One DJ

Born Brandon J. Noel to native Louisianan parents, the man behind the mixer grew up a West Coast kid with Southern influences and a down-home demeanor. As a teen, Brandon was inspired by the spicy blends of his Creole roots to create musical gumbo. The main ingredients to his dish were the Hip-hop, R&B, and Soul records. His sets are put together like a good gumbo- just the right amount of each ingredient separates exciting and memorable from bland and boring. Only through practice and patience can one learn to create that perfect blend.

Mixing and blending your ingredients is truly the art of DJing and few DJs in the industry have learned to create a more flavorful party experience than B.Wild. A student of the art, he was inspired by the greats: Jazzy Jeff, Kid Capri, Premier, and Grandmaster Flash to name a few. A vinyl purist, he got his start digging in the crates from San Diego spots like AC&S, California Sound and Lighting, and Lou’s Records. At 17, he started his first DJ business, 360 Degree Madness, rocking house parties and school dances.

As a teen, Noel was called by other names: B-Light and DJ Raid. With the turn of the millennium, he decided to take the name B.Wild. The name was only appropriate as his passion for the party, adventurous spirit, and playboy lifestyle, were contagious both in his set and in his personal life. The wild, fast-paced lifestyle personified by B.Wild, has at times been dangerous to the life of Brandon J. Noel.

Few fans are aware that B.Wild is actually Brandon J. Noel, a successful businessman, by day. Over the years, he has grown older and more mature through experiencing success as both an entrepreneur and as a DJ. With his success, he has acquired a taste for the finer things in life. His frequent travels have helped him develop a strong affinity for the finer things in life such as fresh sushi, fine art, and well-aged champagne.

Growing older, wiser and more aware of other cultures, and most importantly, playing for more diverse crowds, he has expanded his musical repertoire as well. The sounds of a new era, the technology era, the era of Change, truly inspire him. It is certain to those on the inside that the intoxicating digital sounds of deep house, electronic, and techno music are blending more now than ever with mainstream hip-hop and pop. However, the masses are notorious for being late on such trends. Therefore, as a DJ and businessman, Brandon J. Noel has taken it upon himself to usher in this paradigm shift that is occurring before our very ears in today’s music.

Now, B.Wild fans have grown to love the traditional flavor that he serves night in and night out. To change the formula that has continually rocked all night parties for over 15 years and just start playing electronic music all night would be just as absurd as the chef at a restaurant asking the waiter to change the customer’s order from gumbo to sushi just because there’s seafood in both! The crowd is the customer and they want what they expect.

So, instead of being confined by the traditional ingredients that make the B.Wild dish flavorful and exciting, Brandon J. Noel ,the businessman and entrepreneur, came up with a new way to express his musical evolution- a new brand. The word Noel, whose latin root means literally to birth seemed quite appropriate in the creation of a new identity.

DJ Noel was born a next generation DJ with an old soul. With the vinyl scratching, cutting, and mixing skills of a savvy hip-hop veteran, DJ Noel is out to destroy every sucker in the industry that spins CDs, aimlessly turns knobs, and drops pre-recorded “mashups” and calls himself a DJ. With his smooth, elegant style, he effortlessly blends house, electronic, rare grooves, rock, R&B, old school, and hip-hop commanding the crowd with his every move. DJ Noel also uses the latest technology to separate himself. His fans experience his set visually as he cuts and blends video.

To be clear, B.Wild is not going anywhere. Like the gumbo of his youth, the B.Wild formula still has a unique and special flavor that thousands of fans have grown to love over the past decade. While fans get accustomed to the new flavor of DJ Noel, B.Wild will still continue to be served – just not exclusively.

DJ Noel and B.Wild will now appear on stage as a split personality- B.Wild VS. DJ Noel. The concept is proven to work, Jay-Z is Shawn Carter, T.I has his TIP, and Beyoncé Knowles has her Sasha Fierce. These identities prevent confinement and allow creative expression for artists. Fans will know that when they come to a B.Wild VS. DJ Noel set, they are to expect the unexpected and to expect to be moved.
